Light and strong, the Atomic Backland Summit 12 BR is a versatile touring binding designed for committed touring skiers who crave adventure on all types of terrain. Unique to the binding is a release value adjustment that offers release values up to 12 for reliable operation, safety and superior performance. The AutoFlex system features a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that offers elasticity to support the natural flex of the ski while increasing absorption and improving safety. The patented step-in aid perfectly guides the boot into position, while a climbing aid easily adjusts to 0°, 7° or 13° with a simple flick of a ski pole. The touring brakes feature a unique locking system that easily switches from touring to ski mode. The Alu/PA Pin Toe and heel use high-performance, glass-fiber reinforced PA material to keep the binding light for climbing, yet strong and reliable for the descent.
