For downhill skiing : On-piste skis need to be agile, responsive and able to make turns. It is advisable to choose skis that are 10 cm smaller than the recommended size.
For freestyle skiing : Freestyle skis are designed in Twin Tip mode, which means they have a reduced contact area with the snow. To ensure stability and agility, it is advisable to choose a ski of your size.
For touring skiing : It's best to choose a ski of your size.
For freeride skiing : Freeride skis need to offer stability at high speeds and float in powder. It is recommended that you select A ski of your size, up to 10 cm more.

It features a significant amount of early tapering at the tips and tails, and while it doesn’t have super deep rocker lines, it’s very easy to release, pivot, and skid around.

The Surfeur 112 features a groundbreaking composition, blending unidirectional and bi-axial flax fibres to deliver an extraordinary on-snow experience. "The Surfeur 112 not only represents a brand-new model for Ferreol, but also the first to implement their construction method of replacing synthetic fibers like fiberglass and carbon with natural flax fibers. Doing so was no easy task (see Ep.248 of our GEAR:30 podcast), but the Surfeur 112’s flax laminate translates to a really impressively damp ride quality for a ski this light, while its notably tapered shape and deep rocker lines make it highly maneuverable and playful. Despite those latter aspects (and its fairly tight sidecut radius), the Surfeur 112 is still quite predictable and pretty stable in a variety of soft-ish conditions, from deep pow to variable spring snow. The Surfeur 112 is much more engaging at moderate speeds than other skis in its category, without feeling like a super niche model. By substituting synthetic fibres with flax fibre, we have significantly reduced the carbon footprint of this ski without compromising its performance. When compared to a synthetic reinforcement like carbon or glass fibre, flax fibre reinforcements have a 27% lower carbon footprint. Also, the use of biosourced topsheet and epoxy further reduces the environmental impact. Combined with the renewable energy used to produce this ski, it is one of the most eco-friendly skis in the world in its category.

In our pursuit of environmental responsibility, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) revealed that traditional synthetic fibers, like glass or carbon, accounted for a significant share of our skis’ carbon emissions.

Possédant déjà une paire de Pionnier 104, j'ai eux la chance d'essayer par curiosité le surfeur 112 lors d'une journée démo l'hiver dernier durant une tempête et comment dire... je suis instantanément tomber en amour avec ce ski ! Je n'ai donc pas eux le choix de me procurer une paire et pour les avoir skié à plusieurs reprises et dans plusieurs conditions ce ski ne cesse de me surprendre et de m'impressionner !

Il porte très bien son nom, car la flottaison et la maniabilité sont INCROYABLE dans la neige profonde que l'on a vraiment la sensation de surfer sur la poudreuse. Et c'est sans parler de l'accroche et de la stabilité très surprenante en piste pour un ski de cette largeur.

L'essayer c'est l'adopter et félicitation à l'équipe de Ferreol pour la conception de ce ski tellement plaisant à skier !

Les meilleurs à date!!!!

Les Surfeur 112 sont définitivement une machine de guerre. Encore une fois, l’équipe de conception s’est surpassée pour réaliser un exploit. Skieur du Pionner 104, je me devais d’acheter une paire de 112 pour les journées de poudreuse profonde et aussi pour le design juste impeccable. N’étant pas très patient, aussitôt reçu, aussitôt essayé…sur surface très ferme. Première impression, oh, wait, what??. Je m’attendais à des fat skis, plus difficile à manier et surtout une accroche réduite. Ben non, j’avais tort. L’accroche est magique, le « carving » sur surface ferme est impressionnant et stable, ils tournent sur un 10 cents, presque pas de vibration en spatule et fonce tout droit vers le bas des pentes. Et je ne vous parle même pas des 3 tempêtes de neige où j’ai pu les tester au maximum (wow wow wow). Dans les sous-bois, les skis se contrôlent aisément, même plus facilement que mes 104 (surement dû au fait que le camber est très très léger – on est proche d’un « full rocker »). J’ai fait essayer à un ami qui skiait sur mes Pionner 104 cette journée-là et son commentaire a été, avec un gros sourire « ils (112) sont comparables a une Subaru Outback vs les 104 à une Hyundai Élantra GT (GT quand même). Mon ami ski, normalement sur des Kastle MX88, ça vous donne une idée!! Considérant tout ce qui précède, j’ai décidé d’utiliser les 112 comme mon « ski quiver ». N’hésitez pas à essayer, comme les autres modèles, on ne ressent pas leur largeur. Bon ski!!
