Lightweight and robust, the Atomic Backland Summit 12 BR is a versatile touring binding designed for committed backcountry skiers who crave adventure on all types of terrain. Unique to this binding is its adjustable release value, offering up to 12 settings for reliable operation, safety, and superior performance. The AutoFlex system incorporates a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5mm of travel between the toe and heel during the arc of a turn. The result is an easy-to-use binding that offers elasticity to support the natural flex of the ski while increasing shock absorption and improving safety. The patented boot assist system guides the boot perfectly into position, while the climbing assist system easily adjusts to 0°, 7°, or 13° with a simple flick of the ski pole. The touring brakes feature a unique locking system that seamlessly switches between touring and ski modes. The Alu/PA Pin Toe and heel use a high-performance PA material reinforced with fiberglass to keep the binding lightweight for climbing, but strong and reliable for descending.
